When boats.com sent me to the National Marine Electronics Association's convention to check out the hot new electronics we'd be seeing in 2016, what I didn't expect was to discover a cool new boat like the Judge Yachts Chesapeake 36. But, that's exactly what happened. Furuno was showing off their TZ Touch II system and they had it mounted on the first Chesapeake 36 outboard model ever built. Jump on-board, and let's check out this fishing machine.

You may have noticed, the Chesapeake 36 is a bit of a throw-back to simpler times. It's a rather straight-forward boat, with a very traditional look. And we love that. In an age when a fishing boat's systems can rival the complexity of a Cray and swoopy curves and Euro-styling meet the eye, the Chesapeake 36 is a breath of fresh air. Couple this outboard version with a cutting-edge electronics system like the TZ Touch II, and you still get to take advantage of the best things technology has to offer.

The Judge Chesapeake 36 reminds us that traditional boats are sometimes better.
